Spotted on the road - (old) Fiat 500 Limousine from Germany

While on my way to Trieste, something weird appeared in front of me.

I was on the highway and something almost identical to an old Fiat 500 was on the right lane. Almost being the key.
It wasn't even that slow, going at 120 km/h or so.

As soon as I was closer, I noticed something wrong with the roof of the car and ... wait?! How many side windows am I seeing there!?

Yep, that's a stretched Fiat 500. Stretched as in a 6 meters or so long limousine based on the most iconic Italian city car.
It turns out Germans are more lunatic, in a good way, than what I thought. Apparently fitting twin turbocharged V12s into stealthy sedans isn't their only hobby.

I look forward to the day when we see a stretched US F500 on the road. It signals that you have arrived!

There has to be a strong link between lunacy and genius. Stretching the 500 into a limo probably comes under both.

Personally, I'm not keen on stretch limos. For our school prom, everyone was turning up in them and I found them absolutely tacky but I have to admit, I'd have been tempted by one based on the 500. I do tend to give too many human characteristics to my little 500 but city cars do have a bit of personality and I don't get the feeling that they're screaming "Look at me! Look at how glamorous I am!"

A 500 limo definitely appeals to my personality anyway. :)
